Introduction to Discussion Forum -- Read this before posting
First, remember that there are no right or wrong answers in this forum. Most prompts encourage critical thinking. Your should try to consider the topic, think "outside the box" and convey something of your thought processes to your colleagues. Don't be afraid to write creatively. Experiment with combinations of words or expressions of thoughts that you may not have tried before. This is your chance to try out different ways of writing and perhaps get feedback on how successfully they convey your ideas.
Credit for your posting will be based on your SINCERE ATTEMPT to respond to the topic at a meaningful level, on the depth of your thinking on the subject, and on the degree to which your writing experiments, engages, and surprises. Please use either your first name or your Gatorlink username (that thing before @ufl.edu) to sign your posts so that I can give credit where credit is due.
Write a minimum 100 word response for a maximum of 10 points. (Advice: Write your response on your word processor first, and then cut and paste it into the forum blank.) Once you have made an initial "original" post to the prompt, post a second response to one of your classmate's posts. 5 points weekly will be possible by posting a "reply" to or comment on any of your classmates' responses. (You may reply to more than one classmate's posting, but you will not earn additional points.) Please note in your blog title, or in the first line of the blog, whose post you are commenting on. Each week the blog will be worth a total of 15 points.
To post a comment, click on the "comment" button underneath the blog prompt that you want to respond to. A screen with a comment box will be displayed. Click on the "Other" choice as opposed to the "Blogger" choice underneath the box. Enter your name or UF user name (something so that I know it is you). You do not need to enter a website unless you would like to. Then cut and paste your reply into the comment box and select "Publish Comment."
